The PBTIF is a membership organisation composed of UK based businesses that have a common interest in supporting the principal objective of the group, namely to encourage the development of trade and investment between Pakistan and Britain.
Any corporate organisation based in the UK can become a member of the PBTIF upon payment of an annual membership fee.
The membership fee is currently £1000 p.a. payable for two years upon joining. An application form is available on this page, which should be returned to Asia House, The Secretariat for the PBTIF, 63 New Cavendish Street, London W1G 7LP.
Corporate members will be invited to attend Board meetings of the Forum, held regularly at Asia House. At these meetings, the key issues between the two countries are discussed and an agreed approach for recommendations to be made to both governments is formulated. Future events and activities of the Forum are also determined.
Other benefits arising from Corporate membership include invitations to corporate events and meetings. We may also invite you to cultural events and private views of our outstanding exhibitions, films and other performances. In addition to these extraordinary offers, you have the opportunity to host company receptions at cultural events and are provided with the Asia House newsletter.
At Asia House, we have witnessed a tremendous growth in all of our activities, with nearly 125 events completed in the last year covering 30 Asian countries and with audiences in excess of 35,000. We were especially delighted to receive the prestigious Arts and Heritage Award in Charity Finance magazine's Charity Awards 2005, the leading business magazine for the charity sector. Our corporate programme at Asia House and selected external venues has included events and visits from a number of key economic and political decision makers, including H. E. Shaukat Aziz, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The support that Asia House receives from its corporate members also enables us to maintain a vibrant and popular cultural programme. A recent key event was the Pakistan Earthquake Appeal Concert and Fashion show, which was organised within five weeks of the disaster and raised £30,000 for the victims.
The PBTIF has considerable plans for the future and, dependent upon financial support, these will continue to keep us at the forefront of debate on matters of Pakistani interest. |
Individual Membership is a secondary level of membership provided FREE to any business or individual interested in participating in activities organised by the PBTIF to promote the two-way flow of trade and investment between Pakistan and Britain.
Individual Membership of the PBTIF involves a vast range of remarkable opportunities. We offer participation in the many activities of the PBTIF, including regular meetings of the Forum at the Pakistan High Commission, events held to coincide with the visits of senior Ministers from Pakistan, contact with other members of the PBTIF who may be able to assist with services, and access to the Commercial Counsellor at the Pakistan High Commission.
As a member, in certain cases you will be provided priority invitations to restricted corporate events and meetings, and the opportunity to sponsor corporate events with visiting dignitaries as well as cultural events. We also invite you to cultural events and private views of our outstanding exhibitions, films and other performances. In addition to these extraordinary offers, you have the opportunity to host company receptions at cultural events and are provided with the Asia House newsletter regularly. Whether you are a Pakistani or have an interest in the country, we warmly welcome your interest in the PBTIF and will be delighted to hear from you.
